Obama gets an iPod

To commemerate her trip to Washington, Juila Gillard (and/or staff) decided that Barack Obama should receive the most exceptional gift of an iPod… complete with hours of Australian music.

The full breakdown of songs is listed in the Australian – and I have to say, there are some interesting choices on it!

Classic Australian music?

The music hitlist was put together by PM staff. Why some artists & bands got sooooo many songs will remain a mystery. As well, there’s some borrowed NZ favourites (oh how we do love the Finn brothers and Crowded House). Some obvious choices missing also – anyone heard of ACDC?

Still, its great to see some alternate & hiphop music included – even a Washington hit, which of course makes complete sense considering Jules was visiting Washington…
