Ripe Noosa – music festival in paradise…

Ripe Noosa – 29 May 2010
Yes. Ripe Noosa. A music festival nestled amongst the picturesque Noosa hinterland.
A music festival over green rolling grassy fields… Or so we thought.
The line-up was great – as was the crowd and atmosphere, but mother nature just had other ideas…
Check out the mud (not my feet)…
I have never seen anything like it… not even during 6 days torrential rain at Woodord.
The mud was that bad, that Ripe Noosa in good spirits are now awarding prizes to punters’ best mud shots added to their Facebook wall (select “Just Others” on the wall).
Be sure to look out for the girl and guy who wrestled in the middle for quite some time before bidding an early farewell to the festival.
BUT I’m a glass half full girl… The rain held off, the bonfire was warming, the food exquisite, the crowd friendly, the rides untested, the music great!!
Surprises of the day:
- A great set from Washington (who knew I knew SO many songs), originally one of Triple J’s Unearthed; and
- One from the local band winners, Goodfoot.
Other highlights on the day were:
- Some of the outfits – lets see, the Where’s Wally couple, the SpongeBob Squarepants crew, the colourful all in ones (how do they pee?)…
- The girls who bought their own little shade tent, who politely placed it out of the way of the crowd, but beyond their control, kept having it picked up one end and moved. Lol.
- And the slight confusion caused for some drunk punters during the day when a Nirvana cover started to crank. You saw a look of excitement, turn to confusion, turn to realisation that well, perhaps they weren’t playing live

The Funkoars probably got me grooving the most on the day, but Grinners and The Cat Empire would tie for a close second.
If you want to see all the good bits from the festival, you should check out Ripe’s professional pics.
Other than all the Felix and Tim photos (**sigh dreamily**), this one would have to be one of my favs. Somes up the day well – fun but muddy!
Hopefully I don’t get in trouble for sharing it. Be sure to check out all the official Ripe Noosa photos
