U2 heading back down under

U2 have announced Australia is included on their current global U2 360° tour (2009-2011), which by the time they reach Oz, they will have played to about four million people around the world.

Tickets on Sale

They will land down under in December, with dates set for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

  • Wed 1 December 2010 – Etihad Stadium, Melbourne
  • Wed 8 December 2010 – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
  • Mon 13 December 2010 – ANZ Stadium, Sydney
  • Sat 18 December 2010 – Subiaco Oval, Perth

Tickets are on sale 9.00am Friday, 3 September. However, U2.com subscribers can get their hands on tickets ahead of the general public.

Tickets prices range from $39.90 up to $349.50 (Ticketmaster for Melbourne & Perth shows; Ticketek for Brisbane & Sydney).

Long-time U2 Show Director Willie Williams has again worked with architect Mark Fisher (ZooTV, PopMart, Elevation and Vertigo), to create an innovative 360º design which will delight fans with an unobstructed view for the audience.

So, a circular stage!

As does the band’s “God” like status. In 2005 for the Vertigo Tour, after having been standing in a Dublin stadium in the rain for 4-5 hours waiting, the lights came on, the music started, Bono walked onto the stage and the rain stopped!
