RIP James Freud

James Freud, Lead singer and bassist of 80′s Aussie band, Models, has been found dead this morning at the age of 51.

This comes just a few days after the Models were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. But it seems his life battles proved just too much.

Freud published two memoirs, I Am the Voice Left from Drinking (2002) and I Am the Voice Left from Rehab (2007), which detailed his career in music entertainment and his struggle with drug and alcohol addictions.

Music promoter and close friend Michael Gudinski said Freud would be greatly missed. “James’s battle with alcoholism has been well chronicled. His two books on his recovery and five years’ sobriety were bestsellers and gave a lot of people who were suffering the same affliction comfort and hope,” Gudinski said.

The Melbourne-based band are perhaps best known for their single, “Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight”.

So, why not dance around in your loungeroom as we remember him:
