The APRA Music Awards (Australasian Performing Right Association) were recently held at a red carpet gala in Sydney.
The awards celebrate composers and songwriters across 12 categories who have achieved excellence in their craft over the last year.”
And the Winners Are…
Amongst those winning gongs for 2010 were:
- APRA Song of the Year: The Temper Trap for ‘Sweet Disposition’
- Songwriter/s of the Year: AC/DC Angus and Malcolm Young (also receiving Most Played Overseas)
- Breakthrough Songwriter/s of the Year & Dance work of the Year: Empire of the Sun for Walking On a Dream
- Urban work of the Year: HipHop veterans,Hilltop Hoods – State of the Art
- Blues & Roots work of the Year: Ash Grunwald for ‘Breakout’
